The End of The Year Book Tag!

I wasn’t tagged in this and it isn’t really the end of the year, but I’m seeing this tag everywhere and I want to join the bandwagon! This tag was created by Ariel on Youtube.

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

I started reading Spindle’s End by Robin McKinley, and by started, I mean that I read the first 3 pages, then put it down. It just doesn’t seem like a book I would have an easy time reading, so I’m going to give the audiobook a try soon!

I have also been slowly making my way through The Try Guys’ book. I’ll read a little but before bed a couple nights a week, though it has been a little while since I’ve done that, but I can definitely finish it by the end of the year.

I also started listening to Shadow Frost by Coco Ma, but I got confused, so I think I need to start over and read the physical book, but I don’t know if that will happen this year.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

Not necessarily. I really want to read The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh and that book feels very autumnal in my head, but I’m not really sure that it is.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

There are a few! Queen of Nothing by Holly Black, Starsight by Brandon Sanderson, and Coral by Sara Ella are three that are coming out soon. I do have a few more that were released recently that I haven’t gotten my hands on yet (I’m waiting for hopefully some good Black Friday deals).

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

I definitely want to get all of the new November releases read, but aside from that, I really want to read Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson, as well as his Arcanum Unbounded. I’m not sure I’ll get to the second one because his book definitely take me a solid amount of time to get through.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

I’m getting really good vibes from The Guinevere Deception by Kiersten White. I also think The Toll by Neal Shusterman has the potential to be great. I can never tell when I’m gonna love a book!

Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?

Sort of! I’m going to try and stay on top of new releases, as well as rereading series before new books come out in it. I definitely want to reread Ash Princess and Lady Smoke by Laura Sebastian before the last book in the trilogy comes out. Other than that, here are some of my anticipated releases for 2020 so far:

  • House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
  • The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu
  • The Queen’s Assassin by Melissa de la Cruz
  • Harvey in the Sky by Akemi Dawn Bowman
  • Bone Crier’s Moon by Kathryn Purdie
  • The Honey-Don’t List by Christina Lauren
  • Heartstopper vol 3. by Alice Oseman

  1. I’m looking forward to The Toll😁. I think it will definitely shock regardless of whether it’s a good book or not. The rest of the Arc of a Scythe series has already kept me on the edge of my seat when reading 😁
